The Hawaii County Council’s Finance Committee delayed a discussion on a proposed new event center on Tuesday to correct the bill’s language.
The Hawaii County Council’s Finance Committee delayed a discussion on a proposed new event center on Tuesday to correct the bill’s language.
Hilo Councilman Donald Ikeda, who introduced Bill 313, withdrew it so that he could change a reference to “Public Works” to “Parks and Recreation.”
The bill seeks $500,000 for the design of a new event center that could hold between 8,000 and 10,000 people.
The bill may be discussed again as early as Nov. 8.
